What's inside

  • Habits database with a checkbox per day of the week
  • Auto-calculated days completed per week, measured against your weekly target
  • Monthly view showing every habit's consistency in one sorted table — group it by month yourself in a couple of clicks if you want automatic per-month breakdowns
  • Simple add-a-habit process — no configuration needed

Why it holds up

  • Check a box, see your weekly count update — no extra steps
  • Add or remove habits any time without breaking the grid
  • Works well on the Notion mobile app for daily check-ins

Visibility is the whole mechanism

Habit tracking doesn't change behavior by itself — but seeing a grid fill in (or not) day after day creates a kind of accountability that's hard to get any other way. This template keeps that visibility dead simple: a checkbox per day, a weekly count against your target, nothing else competing for your attention.

Start small

Resist adding ten habits on day one. Three or four habits tracked consistently for a month teaches you more about what sticks than ten habits abandoned in a week. Add more once the first few feel automatic.

Questions people ask before buying

How many habits can I track at once?

There's no hard limit, but the grid is most readable with 5-10 habits. Beyond that, consider grouping habits by category or using the Habit & Wellness OS, which is built for a larger, more structured routine.

Does this track anything besides simple yes/no habits?

This free version is checkbox-based (did you do it or not). For habits with numeric tracking like water intake or workout duration, see the paid Habit & Wellness OS.

Does this track rolling streaks across weeks?

No, and that's deliberate rather than an oversight. A true rolling streak needs a formula that can look at previous rows, which Notion can't do without a paid automation — templates that claim it either reset silently at the week boundary or require extra tooling. What you get instead is days completed per week against your target, and a monthly consistency percentage, which are the numbers that actually show whether a habit is holding.

When you outgrow this one

Habit & Wellness OS

Move up when a streak breaks and you want to see whether sleep, mood, or energy explain why. Habits, sleep, mood, and routines — all logged together so patterns actually show up.
