What's inside

  • Content database with full production stages: Idea, Scripting, Filming/Writing, Editing, Scheduled, Published
  • Calendar and kanban views of the same content database
  • Brand deal tracker with deliverables, payment status, and deadlines
  • Content piece pages with script, asset links, and platform tags
  • Performance notes field for post-publish reflection
  • Idea backlog view separate from active production

Why it holds up

  • Production stages match how content actually gets made, not just posted
  • Brand deal tracker links deliverables to the content pieces that fulfill them
  • Idea backlog keeps future ideas from cluttering your active pipeline
  • Built for solo creators or a small team, not agency-scale client management

A pipeline, not a list

Content doesn't go from idea to published in one step — it moves through stages, and each stage has its own bottleneck. This template treats that seriously: a kanban board with real production stages means you can see at a glance whether your bottleneck this week is scripting, filming, or editing, instead of just seeing an undifferentiated pile of "in progress."

The brand deal tracker earns its keep

Sponsorship and brand deal management is usually bolted onto a creator's workflow with a spreadsheet or, worse, a memory of who owes what. This template's deal tracker links deliverables directly to content pieces, so fulfilling a sponsorship is visible progress against your actual pipeline, not a separate obligation floating outside it.

Idea backlog vs. active production

Ideas and active production work are kept in separate views of the same database, so your pipeline board only shows what's actually being made — a backlog of fifty ideas doesn't clutter the board you check every day to see what's stuck.

Questions people ask before buying

How is this different from the free Content Calendar Starter?

The starter template tracks status and publish date. This adds the full production pipeline — scripting, filming, editing — plus a brand deal tracker for sponsorships, which the free version doesn't include. If your bottleneck is production stages getting lost, not just scheduling, this is the upgrade.

Does the brand deal tracker calculate payment totals?

The Chase Payment view flags any brand deal marked Delivered that doesn't yet have a Paid Date logged, so a sponsor payment doesn't quietly go unpaid unnoticed. It doesn't currently roll up contracted value into a month-by-month total — that's a manual add in Notion if you want it.

Can I use this for a two-person creator team (e.g. with an editor)?

Yes, assign an Owner or Assignee field per content piece and both of you can see what stage everything is in. It's built for a small team, not client-facing agency work managing multiple creators' accounts.

Does this work for both video and written content?

Yes — the production stages are generic enough to cover video (filming/editing) or writing (drafting/editing) content types; just interpret the stage names loosely for your medium.
