What's inside

  • Sample daily pages showing the full priorities/schedule/notes layout
  • Top 3 priorities section, locked to the top of every page
  • Hour-by-hour time block schedule from 6am to 10pm
  • Quick notes and end-of-day reflection prompts
  • Calendar and list views to browse past days
  • A single database — no linked databases or setup to break

Why it holds up

  • Duplicate and start writing in under 60 seconds
  • Duplicate any existing day to start tomorrow with the same layout already in place
  • Works equally well on desktop and the Notion mobile app
  • No formulas, relations, or rollups — fully editable by beginners

Why a one-page planner works

Most Notion planners fail for the same reason paper planners get abandoned in February: too much structure, too much setup, too much friction before you can write down what you need to do today. The Simple Daily Planner strips that away. One page, one day, three sections — priorities, schedule, notes. You duplicate it, open today's page, and start.

Who this is for

This is the right starting point if you're new to Notion, or if you've tried a heavier productivity system and found yourself maintaining the system instead of doing the work. It's deliberately not built for project management, habit tracking, or long-term goal setting — for those, see the Second Brain Command Center. This template does one job well: giving today a clear shape.

How to use it

Duplicate the page, then duplicate one of the sample days to start today's entry with the layout already in place. Fill in your top 3 priorities first — resist the urge to list more than three — then block your schedule loosely around them. The end-of-day reflection prompt takes thirty seconds and is the single highest-leverage habit in the whole template: it's how you notice patterns without building a whole analytics system to do it.

Questions people ask before buying

Do I need a Notion account to use this?

Yes, a free Notion account is all you need. Create one at notion.so if you don't already have one, then duplicate this template into your workspace.

Can I add this to an existing Notion workspace?

Yes. When you click Duplicate, Notion asks which workspace to add it to. Pick any workspace you're a member of and it drops in as a new top-level page.

Is this template really free, or is there a catch?

It's free. Enter your email to get the duplicate link — we'll also add you to our template newsletter, which you can unsubscribe from anytime. No credit card, no trial.

What if I want more structure later?

Check out the Second Brain Command Center, which builds on the same daily-page idea with linked projects, tasks, and a weekly review system.
